Kind of need some help, so for like 2-3 months I have not been able to do curls because it feels like my wrist is about to pop and it just hurts a ton and it’s whatever weight I do, but If I curl with a neutral grip when I do hammer curls it’s nothing Just really annoying that I have had to use a cuff for curling when I do baysean curls, because the cuff just gives burn marks and grinds into my wrist/forearm

🤔 kinda makes sense to me those things usually make me sore for 3ish days, should i try to rush the eccentric a bit

More muscle damage occurs during eccentric movement (edited)
16:48
Why would you go out your way to speed up the eccentric to reduce soreness though?

Unless you’re doing it extremely slowly already

i am, usually my eccentrics take 2 or 3 seconds per rep as i was taught by form vids to feel the stretch on the hamstrings
16:50
i feel like i could do it a bit faster while still being safe and cause less muscle damage overall

Up to you, the most important part is that you just control the weight down rather than doing a specific number of seconds down

There’s no sure mechanism of it yet

But, muscle damage is a very likely factor/mechanism for it So he’s probably basing that off the fact eccentric motion causes more muscle damage than concentric motion (edited)

yes

Because if his HR max is only 185 for example
22:21
then 140 for him would be 75% of his HR max
22:21
but if yours was 200
22:21
then its only 70%

and also, HR is not the most accurate tool to measure exercise intensity objectively, its pretty good and its very accessible, but blood lactate is probably best for determining that currently

just so you can get a good idea where ur training zones are

It's a bit like knowing what ur 1RM max is
